Q: What things matter to me most when purchasing a home?
A: Please check out our buyers wish list tool: http://5thavenuere.com/perfect-home-finder/
Q: How do I know it is the right home?
A: This may seem a bit cliché, but frequently it comes down to a feeling. Does it feel right when you step into the home? Do you see yourself living there?
Q: What should I be looking for when doing a walk-through of a property?
A: It is important to get a general feel for the home.
Take a look at the flooring, appliances and the space. Think about the functionality of certain things (for example, flow of rooms, will my furniture fit).
At the end of the day, it is your personal preference – some people prefer to just look while others prefer to closely examine various rooms/appliances, etc. (look versus touch and feel).
You are not required to know details regarding foundation, roof, electrical boxes, etc. This is where an inspector and additional experts come in. As part of your purchase process, an inspector hired by you will come in to examine the house. It is your right to choose if you want to have the property inspected.
